New Commander Appointed to IDF Unit 8133 Responsible for VIP Security

Colonel M. assumed command of Unit 8133, the IDF's central unit for securing senior officials and delegations, replacing Lieutenant Colonel M. who served in the role for the past four years. The unit operates around the clock to neutralize threats through detection, deception, searches, and unique operational capabilities, protecting top IDF figures both domestically and abroad. The change of command ceremony took place this week at the Kirya military headquarters, led by Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, Operations Branch Head Major General Itzik Cohen, and other senior officials. Outgoing commander Lieutenant Colonel M. expressed a strong sense of honor, stating he felt privileged to lead such a special unit during a historic period.
