Marc Cucurella Joins Real Madrid on Six-Year Deal

Marc Cucurella has officially signed with Real Madrid, leaving Chelsea after several seasons to join the Spanish giants on a long-term contract running for the next six years. The move was reported on Monday, June 15, 2026, and adds another high-profile name to a summer rebuilding effort at the club.

Real Madrid are seeking to assemble a deeper, stronger squad for the upcoming season after going without a major trophy for the past two years. Cucurella’s arrival comes alongside other agreed signings, including Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva, as the club looks to reinforce key positions and improve overall quality.

New coach Jose Mourinho is said to have been a strong admirer of Cucurella and believed the left back fit his system well. Club sources said Mourinho pushed for the signing early in the transfer window in order to strengthen the left side of the defense and add depth to the squad. Reports place the fee at around 60 million euros.

The transfer also creates competition on the left side of defense, where Real signed another left back, Alvaro Carreras, for a similar amount last summer.
