Paramedic Saves Man From Cardiac Arrest During Prayer in Kiryat Malachi Synagogue
A dramatic incident unfolded about six weeks ago in a synagogue in Kiryat Malachi when worshiper Roni Nakash suddenly collapsed from cardiac arrest during prayer. At the same time, volunteer paramedic Alandiv Tam from United Hatzalah was present and immediately sprang into action. Security footage shows Tam rushing to Nakash, calling emergency services via radio, and performing CPR using a defibrillator he carried.
Additional United Hatzalah volunteers arrived shortly after to assist, and their combined efforts successfully revived Nakash, who regained full consciousness and was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The quick response and use of the defibrillator were credited with saving Nakash's life.
The story culminated last week at a wedding where Tam was officiating his son's marriage. Nakash, now healthy, surprised Tam by attending the event to personally thank him. The emotional reunion highlighted the profound human impact behind emergency medical interventions and the gratitude of those saved.
The synagogue provided the security footage capturing the critical moments of Nakash's collapse and Tam's immediate lifesaving actions, underscoring the importance of rapid response in cardiac emergencies.
