Boston Teen Arrested After Armed Robbery of Children’s Lemonade Stand
A 14-year-old boy was arrested in Boston on suspicion of robbing at gunpoint a lemonade stand run by an 11-year-old girl and her 12-year-old brother in the city’s south side. Police said two masked suspects approached the stand, asked whether they could pay with Apple Pay, and then, as the children were about to respond, grabbed the cash box. One of the suspects was also seen with a black handgun tucked into his pants.
According to reports, the pair fled with about $50 in cash. Security cameras recorded them wearing black face coverings, with one suspect carrying a black backpack and a pink box that investigators believe contained the stolen money. The images of the children before the robbery and the suspects during the escape were later circulated from Boston police footage and social media.
Boston police said the arrested teenager faces two counts of armed robbery and two counts of illegal weapons possession. He is expected to appear in juvenile court. The second suspect remains at large, and police are asking the public to share any information that could help identify and locate him.
