Asaf Hertz Releases Second Single From Debut Album About Faith and Inner Reflection
Singer and actor Asaf Hertz has released "How Much More There Is to Learn," the second single from his debut album, which he is currently working on. The song, written and composed with Elior Ravid, deals with the tension between chasing success and recognition and longing for inner peace, meaning, and a connection to the soul.
Hertz said the track summarizes a personal journey he has gone through in recent years. "I realized that the pursuit of achievements does not necessarily bring calm and joy," he said. "Only the inward connection, to the soul, to faith and to love of people, opened for me a new way to look at life."
In recent years, Hertz says he developed a deep connection to Torah study, which gave him a new perspective on the world and his place in it. That influence appears in the song's lyrics, especially in the closing line, "Love covers all transgressions," based on a verse from Proverbs.
Hertz says the song's central message is a call for introspection and for seeing the good in people. "I wish for myself and for all of us to look at each other with a generous eye, like close family," he said. The lyrics also speak about freeing oneself from the need to please others and returning to a simple, authentic essence, with the repeated refrain, "God protect us, how much more there is to learn."
