Hapoel Be'er Sheva Advances Contract Talks with Eliel Peretz Amid Transfer Race
Following their 2-0 victory over Red Star Belgrade, Hapoel Be'er Sheva plans to intensify contract negotiations with midfielder Eliel Peretz after their upcoming second-leg match against Sabah next week. Peretz, who joined the club two years ago from Apollon Limassol on a two-year deal with a third-year option exercised by owner Alona Barkat, has become one of Israel's top players and a key figure in the club's recent success. He has also established himself as a regular starter for the Israeli national team under coach Ran Ben Shimon.
Peretz stood out in the recent match in Romania, especially following the departure of Kings Kangwa, taking on greater responsibility despite being benched earlier this summer by coach Ran Kojukh. Initial talks with his agent Gilad Katzav have begun and will deepen after the playoff stage, with hopes that Be'er Sheva will qualify for the Champions League.
Simultaneously, the club is working to sign two additional foreign players, a defender and an attacking midfielder, before the September 2 deadline for registering players eligible for European competitions. On the Israeli front, Hapoel Be'er Sheva is targeting Bassam Zaaroura and Maor Levi from Maccabi Netanya. Qualification for the Champions League would provide the financial means to secure one of these players, though Maccabi Netanya demands steep fees: approximately 2.5 million euros for Zaaroura and 1.5 million euros for Levi.
