Israeli Border Police Arrest 16 Illegal Immigrants Hidden in Truck's Double Wall at Mizmoriyah Checkpoint
Israeli Border Police fighters from the Jerusalem periphery and checkpoint units stopped a truck at the Mizmoriyah crossing on Thursday following intelligence guidance. During a thorough search, officers discovered a double wall inside the truck, behind which 16 illegal immigrants were hiding. The truck driver, a resident of East Jerusalem, was arrested on suspicion of transporting the individuals.
The operation was based on intelligence received from the Border Police's Investigation and Intelligence Department in the Jerusalem periphery. The truck was suspected of moving illegal immigrants from the West Bank into Israel. Upon the truck's arrival at the crossing, officers identified and stopped it for inspection.
The 16 individuals found concealed behind the double wall did not possess legal entry or residency permits in Israel. All were detained along with the driver and transferred to the Investigation and Intelligence Department of the Border Police in the Jerusalem periphery for further questioning.
