International Referee Sapir Berman Fails Fitness Tests, Misses Start of Israeli Premier League Season
Israeli international referee Sapir Berman will not officiate the opening rounds of the upcoming Israeli Premier League season after failing the fitness tests required by the Referees Association. The tests, conducted ahead of the league's start, are mandatory to ensure referees meet basic physical standards. This marks the second time in her career that Berman has failed these tests, but it is the first occurrence since she attained international referee status. Berman will be eligible to return to officiating once she passes the next round of fitness assessments scheduled to take place at the Wingate Institute. The Referees Association has not indicated any exceptions or alternative arrangements for her participation in the league's early matches.
