Election Committee Chair Orders Bennett to Remove IDF Footage from Campaign Video
Noam Solberg, chairman of Israel's Central Elections Committee, has instructed Naftali Bennett, leader of the Yachad party, to remove video clips showing Israeli soldiers engaged in operational activities and artillery from his election campaign video. In the video, Bennett highlights that soldiers have been fighting for many months while some ultra-Orthodox individuals avoid military service. The footage of soldiers appears in the background during this segment. The Likud party accused Bennett of illegally using public assets and the IDF for election propaganda. Solberg ruled that the contested clips contain IDF property and directly associate the military and its operations with the video's political messages, and that these clips are not minor or incidental parts of the video.
