Kyoto Restaurant in Herzliya Relocates After Lease Ends, Not Closing

Reports that the iconic Kyoto restaurant in Herzliya is closing are inaccurate. The 27-year-old establishment is ending its lease at the current location due to planned renovations by the building owner, Gav Yam, which would disrupt its operations. Gav Yam intends to build a new, luxurious lobby that will reduce the restaurant's space and halt its activity during construction. Owner Shimon Abu explained that after months of lease renewal negotiations, he declined the offer to resume on October 7, citing incompatibility with the proposed terms. Consequently, Kyoto will cease operations at its current site on August 27 but is actively negotiating a new location to continue serving customers.
