Free Agent Players Matched to Maccabi and Hapoel Tel Aviv Basketball Teams

Maccabi Tel Aviv has finalized its roster, but basketball analysts from BasketNews suggest adding another guard. In a podcast hosted by Donatas Urbonas and Gytis Blazivicius, they matched EuroLeague free agents to teams that would suit them well. For Maccabi Tel Aviv, they recommended Nemanja Nedovic as an ideal fit. Blazivicius noted the team has many point guards and combo guards but lacks a true shooting guard who can play off the ball, and Nedovic’s style from his time at Monaco fits perfectly. Urbonas agreed, mentioning he initially considered Isaiah Canaan but found Nedovic more relevant for Maccabi’s needs.

Regarding Hapoel Tel Aviv, Urbonas suggested Donatas Motiejunas as a strong candidate. He described Motiejunas as a leader and team glue who could complement Hapoel’s frontcourt players, Oturu and Odiase, by providing ball movement and leadership. Blazivicius offered an alternative recommendation, Kenneth Faried, as a useful addition especially if injuries occur, though he acknowledged Hapoel might not urgently need him.

These recommendations come as both teams have mostly completed their rosters ahead of the new season, but the analysts see potential benefits in these free agents to strengthen specific roles and team dynamics.
