Nine people sustained minor injuries at the municipal pool in Kiryat Gat after approximately 100 liters of hydrochloric acid spilled into the water. The incident occurred when a chlorine-containing pipe detached, causing those present to inhale the hazardous substance, according to police reports. The pool was promptly closed, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause and circumstances of the spill.
Fire and Rescue Services responded by conducting thorough searches for additional victims, monitoring the area with specialized detectors, and working to dilute and neutralize the dangerous chemical.
