Maccabi Tel Aviv Faces Challenges in Signing Dutch Winger Thibo Baeten

Maccabi Tel Aviv has identified Dutch winger Thibo Baeten as a key target to strengthen their right-wing position, with ongoing negotiations underway. However, according to reports from the Netherlands, the transfer is proving complicated as Baeten's current club, Go Ahead Eagles, values him highly and is reluctant to let him go. Maccabi Tel Aviv prefers a loan deal with an option to buy, but this arrangement is not ideal for the Dutch club, which may even keep Baeten for the upcoming season.

Baeten, 24, is versatile across both wings and was part of the Go Ahead Eagles squad that won the Dutch Cup last season. He previously played under Steven Vanhaeren, Maccabi Tel Aviv's sporting director, making him a favored candidate for the Israeli club. Meanwhile, Maccabi must also resolve foreign player roster issues before finalizing any new signings. Alongside the loan of Henry Edu, the club is seeking solutions regarding players Ion Nicolaescu, who is recovering from injury, and Cróvin Andrade, who currently refuses a move to Europe and prefers to transfer to a Brazilian league.
