Maccabi Haifa Faces Six Season-Ending Injuries Within 11 Months
Over the past 11 months, Maccabi Haifa has been severely impacted by six major injuries, each forcing players to miss the remainder of their seasons. The injured players include Pedrao, who suffered a serious injury in the 2024/25 season and returned after about a year and a half; Lior Kassa, who tore his left knee ACL in September 2025 and has yet to return; Elad Amir, with a partial posterior cruciate ligament tear who also remains sidelined; Pierre Cornu, who sustained a full ACL and meniscus tear in February 2026 and has not returned; Yinon Feingezicht, who tore his ACL in May 2026 and is expected to return near the season's end; and Sherif Kiouf, who ruptured his Achilles tendon in July. Additionally, Manuel Benson suffered an ACL and meniscus tear in August 2026 and is not expected back this season.
Alongside these severe injuries, Maccabi Haifa also faced a wave of less critical injuries affecting players such as Yila Btayi, Ali Mohammed, and Kenny Saif, who missed extended periods. This string of injuries has posed a significant challenge for the team throughout the past year, impacting their squad depth and performance in the Israeli Premier League.
