Maccabi Haifa Faces Six Season-Ending Injuries in Less Than a Year

Over the past 11 months, Maccabi Haifa has suffered six severe injuries that have prematurely ended the seasons of key players. The injuries span from late 2024 through August 2026, severely impacting the team's lineup. Notable cases include Pedro, who was injured in the 2024/25 season and returned after about 18 months, and Lior Kassa, who tore his left knee ACL in September 2025 and has yet to return. Elad Amir suffered a partial tear in his posterior knee ligament and remains sidelined. Pierre Cornu sustained a full ACL and meniscus tear in February 2026 and has not returned to play. Yinon Feingezicht tore his ACL in May 2026 and is expected to return near the season's end. Sherif Kiyof suffered a full Achilles tendon rupture in July, while Manuel Benson tore his ACL and meniscus in August 2026 and is unlikely to return this season.

In addition to these major injuries, the team also faced a wave of less severe injuries affecting players like Yila Betay, Ali Muhammad, and Kenny Saif, who missed extended periods. These injuries have posed significant challenges for Maccabi Haifa throughout the recent seasons, disrupting team stability and performance.
