Rabbis Isser Klonsky and David Hai Hakohen Join Leadership of Torah HaAretz HaTova Organization
Following Rabbi Dov Lior's resignation as president of the Torah HaAretz HaTova organization due to health reasons, Rabbis Isser Klonsky and David Hai Hakohen are set to join the organization's leadership. They will serve alongside Rabbi Yaakov Ariel as part of the organization's ongoing activities. Rabbi Klonsky, a prominent disciple of Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook, and Rabbi Hakohen, head of the Orot HaTorah institutions in Bat Yam, will fill the leadership roles vacated by Rabbi Lior.
Rabbi Dov Lior was honored in a special recognition event attended by leading rabbis from the national-religious community affiliated with Torah HaAretz HaTova. The rabbis expressed gratitude for his leadership and contributions over the years, wishing him health and renewed strength. In his remarks, Rabbi Lior emphasized the national-religious community's duty to strengthen the people of Israel and maintain their connection to the Land of Israel. He stated, "Whoever wants to save the people of Israel must not cede any land to foreign rule. The Land of Israel belongs solely to the people of Israel."
Rabbi Lior also called on rabbis to continue following the teachings of Rabbi Kook, who proclaimed over a century ago that the time of redemption has arrived and is ongoing despite challenges. He encouraged perseverance amid difficulties, affirming that "the Land of Israel is acquired through suffering." Rabbi Zalman Melamed, head of the Beit El Yeshiva, recalled knowing Rabbi Lior since their student days and praised his pioneering vision of contemporary redemption processes. Despite occasional disagreements among rabbis, Rabbi Melamed noted the strong mutual affection within their ranks.
