Beitar Jerusalem Targets Rising Star David Asanka for Next Season

Following his impressive performance in a recent match against Beitar Jerusalem, the club's professional staff has expressed strong interest in signing David Asanka, the left winger of Hapoel Ramat Gan, for the upcoming season. Asanka scored a remarkable goal in the game, showcasing his rapid development over recent years. Beitar Jerusalem's owner, Barak Abramov, and sporting director, Almog Cohen, have been closely monitoring Asanka's progress since last season.

In the match on Monday, Asanka sealed his outstanding performance with a spectacular goal following a successful one-two pass with Maxim Plakuchenko. Beitar Jerusalem won the game on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw, securing seventh place in the Toto Cup and earning approximately 100,000 shekels more in prize money than Ramat Gan, who finished eighth.

Asanka first caught the attention of Beitar's management last season while playing in the National League, where he scored seven goals in his debut season in Israel's second division. Prior to that, he played for Beitar Nordia Jerusalem in Liga Alef, scoring nine goals and helping the team reach promotion playoffs, though they lost 5-2 to Hapoel Nof HaGalil.
