Man Charged for Brutally Attacking Teen on Bus from Haifa to Tiberias
A 29-year-old man from Afula has been charged with assaulting a 16-year-old boy on a bus traveling from Haifa to Tiberias. According to the indictment, the attack occurred after the teenager smiled at the suspect, who then threatened him during the ride. When the bus reached the central station in Tiberias, the teenager boarded a different bus with a female companion, but the suspect followed and sat a few seats away. Minutes later, the suspect threw his phone at the teen and physically assaulted him, causing broken teeth and facial injuries that required medical treatment.
The suspect also issued further threats, warning the boy that if he did not show respect, he would break his face again. The police investigation led to the filing of a serious indictment and a request to detain the suspect until the legal proceedings conclude. The case has been submitted to the Magistrate's Court in Nof HaGalil-Nazareth. The police released footage of the attack as part of their evidence.
