Five Workers Injured by Unexploded Ordnance Blast in Metula Agricultural Area
Early Tuesday morning around 7:15 AM, five workers were injured in an agricultural field near Metula due to the explosion of an unexploded ordnance. Emergency medical teams provided initial life-saving treatment at the scene. Among the injured, one person is in serious condition, another in moderate condition, and three others sustained minor injuries. The seriously and moderately injured were urgently airlifted by helicopter to a hospital for further medical care.
Preliminary reports suggest the exploded device was cluster munitions, but the exact circumstances and origin of the ordnance remain under investigation and have not been officially confirmed. Bomb disposal units and explosive ordnance disposal teams were dispatched to the site to secure the area, conduct thorough searches, and ensure no additional explosives or unexploded ordnance remain.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine how the ordnance came to be in the agricultural area and to prevent further injuries.
