Jala Band Releases New Desert-Inspired Melody for 'Adon HaSelichot' Prayer
The Jala band from Tekoa, consisting of four members, continues its musical journey with a new melody for the traditional Selichot prayer "Adon HaSelichot," composed by Gal Hever. This latest piece infuses the prayer with a desert-Khaliji style rhythm and atmosphere, reflecting the landscape and cultural roots of the band members from the Judean Desert region.
Last year, Jala released the Selichot album "Shevet Yehuda," featuring guest artist Biny Landau, which blended traditional Selichot prayers with the band’s unique musical language. Their music aims to balance the depth of prayer with joy, creating moments that are both spiritual and celebratory. This approach is evident in "Adon HaSelichot," designed to be sung, danced to, and prayed within.
This musical direction also appears in their recent single "New Song," released about a month ago, which explores prayer as a way of life and the concept that all songs can be prayers, turning every human experience into a form of spiritual expression.
