18-Year-Old's Hair Salon in Rehovot Burglarized, Equipment Worth 70,000 Shekels Stolen

Security footage from the 'Shabus' hair salon in Rehovot revealed a burglary in which equipment valued at approximately 70,000 shekels was stolen from the business owned by 18-year-old Tohar Shabo. The video shows a masked intruder calmly breaking the salon's display window and moving inside while the alarm sounds. During the break-in, the thief collected professional scissors, computers, phones, and grooming products, causing significant damage and severe financial loss.

In an interview on the morning show "HaOlam HaBoker," Shabo described the emotional impact of the theft and his deep connection to the salon he built with his own hands. He said, "First of all, you feel like they are desecrating your sanctuary, the thing that is most important to you, which you have worked on for so many years." Shabo recounted his challenging journey from childhood to realizing his dream of opening the salon, noting that he is a child of a single mother and has worked in the profession since age 13.

Despite this setback, the determined 18-year-old plans to continue operating the salon while preparing for his upcoming military service in the Israel Defense Forces. The Israel Police responded that officers arrived within minutes of the report, collected evidence, and launched an investigation including searches and efforts to identify those involved to uncover the truth.
