Defense Minister Katz Orders IDF to Transfer West Bank Civil Enforcement to Police Within Two Weeks
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will submit a plan within two weeks to transfer responsibility for civil enforcement activities in the West Bank to the police. Katz emphasized that unauthorized violence and vigilantism by unqualified groups will not be tolerated. The announcement was made during a security discussion attended by IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi, Central Command Chief Avi Blot, and other senior military officials. Additionally, the Defense Ministry reported that, in coordination with the Central Command and relevant professional bodies, efforts will be accelerated to regulate legal farms in the area.
