Masked Gunmen Open Fire in Central Sderot, Injuring Three People

In December 2025, two masked men opened fire at a group outside a store in the center of Sderot, injuring three individuals with varying degrees of wounds. The incident began after an altercation between the suspects, both residents of Rahat, and people outside the store. Following the initial confrontation, one suspect returned to the store, threw a stone, and shattered the glass window. Later, both suspects came back masked and armed with a handgun, shooting multiple rounds at the group before fleeing the scene by car.

The victims sustained gunshot wounds to their legs, including one who was hit by a bullet that penetrated his knee. The investigation was conducted by the Sderot police station, leading to an indictment filed last week against the two suspects. They face charges of carrying and transporting weapons and causing grievous bodily harm. Additionally, one suspect, Mohammad Amrani, is charged with malicious property damage for breaking the store window.

The case highlights ongoing security challenges in the region and the swift police response to violent incidents. The suspects' identities and the details of the investigation were disclosed as part of the indictment process.
