Naama Lazimi Explains Yair Golan's Decision on Inclusion of Hostage's Mother in Party List
Knesset member Naama Lazimi from the Democratic Party addressed the controversy surrounding the exclusion of Einav Tzangoker, mother of kidnapped Matan Tzangoker, from the party's Knesset list. In a morning interview with Reshet Bet, Lazimi explained that party leader Yair Golan did not anticipate the level of participation in the party's internal elections and therefore chose not to break the trust of the party members who voted. She emphasized that Golan's decision was based on respecting the voters' confidence rather than a personal stance.
Lazimi also expressed her personal support and deep respect for Einav Tzangoker's struggle, calling her a role model and affirming her commitment to help integrate Tzangoker into public service. The issue arose amid internal party tensions and an unusual directive from Golan, which sparked public debate. Lazimi's remarks aimed to clarify the political reasoning behind the decision while highlighting her empathy for Tzangoker's cause.
