Likud Demands Haifa Prosecutor's Office End Delay in Case Against Activist Yolanda Yabur

The Likud party has issued an unusual demand to the Haifa District Prosecutor's Office, urging a final and reasoned decision regarding activist Dr. Yolanda Yabur. Yabur was investigated following a series of sharp statements and publications against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which Likud claims incited the public to physical violence and rebellion against the prime minister. Lawyer Ilan Bombach, representing Likud, noted in a letter that nearly nine months have passed since the police investigation concluded, yet no indictment has been filed nor final decision made.

Likud justifies its request by emphasizing the party's direct and immediate interest in proper legal proceedings, as well as the broader public interest in ensuring impartial law enforcement. The letter describes Yabur as an "extreme left-wing protest activist" whose social media posts were deemed by law enforcement as blatant incitement to violence and rebellion. She explicitly called for a "real rebellion" and urged fighting the "traitor" Netanyahu by any means, including sharing a video of the arson of a foreign prime minister’s residence with the caption "only this way," interpreted as a call for violence against Netanyahu.

Yabur was arrested following these posts and later placed under house arrest. Despite a prosecutor's statement in early December 2025 indicating the investigation's closure and intent to file charges, the case remains unresolved. The letter claims the file has been pending with the Haifa Prosecutor's Office and the Legal Advisor to the Government, Gali Baharav-Miara, for months, describing the delay as unreasonable and raising concerns of selective enforcement due to Yabur's political identity.

Likud demands the prosecution either file charges or issue a clear, justified decision to end the ongoing uncertainty, warning that indefinite delays without substantive responses are unacceptable.
