Satmar Rebbe Opens Expanded Affordable Celebration Halls at His Late Father's Residence

During the Satmar Rebbe's summer vacation in New Hempstead, extensive renovations and expansions were completed at the holy residence in Kiryas Joel, his community's center. The work included refurbishing and enlarging the celebration halls, the Rebbe's private study hall, and additional rooms and wings to accommodate thousands of Hasidim who visit the site. The Rebbe, known for advocating joyous celebrations without excessive expenses, had established a special hall years ago where weddings and other events are held according to his guidelines, emphasizing modesty and affordability.

Due to increasing demand, new halls were added to the complex. Upon his return, the Rebbe conducted a mezuzah affixing ceremony and inaugurated the renovated building. He personally affixed a mezuzah at the main entrance of the new study hall and invited community leaders and donors to do the same in other new rooms. Following this, the Rebbe held a celebratory gathering (tish) in the study hall, where he expressed great satisfaction that in the home of his father, the late Rabbi Moshe Teitelbaum, a committee was established to assist many Hasidim in celebrating life events affordably. He blessed the community leaders, activists, donors, and attendees with abundant blessings.
