Tense Saturday in Benjamin Region as Gunfire Hits Psagot and Shepherd Attacked

Several security incidents occurred on Saturday in the Benjamin region, including gunfire directed at the settlement of Psagot and an attack on a shepherd near Alon Road. Around 8:00 PM, shots were heard near Psagot, and a bullet was found close to a synagogue within the settlement. The Psagot security officer arrived at the scene, followed by Israeli Defense Forces and police forces to investigate the circumstances of the shooting.

Earlier on the same day, a shepherd was assaulted near the quarries route close to Alon Road by individuals from the Palestinian village of Al-Mughayer, according to the Benjamin Regional Council. Subsequently, about 30 masked Palestinians gathered and reportedly caused disturbances by setting up several roadblocks in the area.

The Benjamin Regional Council noted that attacks on shepherds and other security incidents have become a recurring issue in recent years. They also criticized the lack of sufficient public exposure and media coverage of these events.
