Spinka Rebbe's Sons Crowned as Successors During Brooklyn Funeral

At the deeply emotional funeral of the Spinka Rebbe, Zvi Spinka, held at his study hall in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the community's longtime gabbai, Rabbi Meir Tzvi Cohen Francois, read the Rebbe's will and announced the appointment of his three sons as his spiritual successors. The eldest son, Rabbi David Moshe Horowitz, was named to lead the community and continue the dynasty at the Beit Midrash and congregation of Beit Shmuel Tzvi Spinka in Williamsburg. Rabbi David Moshe is also the son-in-law of Rabbi Yisrael Yosef Kahn, the eldest son of the Toldos Aharon Rebbe and head of the Be'er Yosef kollel, as well as the grandson of the Melitz Rebbe.

The second son, Rabbi Yoel Horowitz, who is the son-in-law of his uncle, the Sasov Rebbe residing in Israel, was also crowned as a successor in the Spinka dynasty. The third son, Rabbi Shmuel Tzvi Horowitz, son-in-law of Rabbi Yisrael Schneibalg, the Av Beit Din of Tchernovitz in Borough Park, was similarly appointed to continue the Spinka spiritual leadership. This formal succession ensures the continuation of the Spinka Hasidic dynasty through the Rebbe's sons, each connected to prominent rabbinic families.
