Eight-Year-Old Boy Suffers Cardiac Arrest at Home in Jerusalem's Pisgat Ze'ev, Hospitalized in Serious Condition

An eight-year-old boy suddenly lost consciousness at his home on Nativ HaMazalot Street in the Pisgat Ze'ev neighborhood of Jerusalem on Friday afternoon. Emergency teams arrived promptly and performed advanced resuscitation efforts, successfully restoring his heartbeat.

Paramedic Nahman Ben Yishai from the Hatzalah rescue team described arriving to find the boy unconscious, without pulse or breathing, as family members reported the sudden collapse without prior warning. The combined efforts of paramedics and medics from Magen David Adom and Hatzalah included chest compressions and artificial respiration.

Following the resuscitation, the boy was transported in serious condition by MDA's intensive care ambulance to Shaare Zedek Medical Center for further treatment in the trauma unit. His family has been asked to pray for his recovery.

This incident highlights the critical importance of basic resuscitation knowledge and rapid emergency response, especially in cases of sudden cardiac arrest and respiratory failure. It follows a series of recent medical emergencies in the area, underscoring the life-saving impact of immediate action by first responders.
