Nova Survivor Alqana Federman Launches New Political Party 'Tikuma' to Restore Security and Trust

Alqana Federman, a reserve soldier and security officer at the Nova party massacre site, announced on Thursday his entry into politics by founding a new party named 'Tikuma' (Resurgence). Federman, son of right-wing activist Noam Federman, revealed the decision on social media, describing it as an unplanned but necessary response to the traumatic events he experienced during the October 7 massacre.

Federman recounted his harrowing experience fighting terrorists and rescuing wounded under heavy fire at the party venue in Re'im. Witnessing the carnage and loss of comrades profoundly changed him, compelling him to speak out against the state's failure to learn from its mistakes. He emphasized that his party aims to restore responsibility, security, and trust in Israel's institutions, while supporting young fighters who sometimes must battle internal challenges as well.

He posed critical questions about how the October 7 attack occurred, who should be held accountable, and how to rebuild Israel’s security and confidence. Federman stated that seeking answers requires taking responsibility, which motivated his political move. He stressed that Tikuma is not just another party formed by political insiders but a genuine effort to rise from the national trauma and renew the country’s foundations.

Federman declared he will run as an independent but is open to alliances with right-wing parties willing to collaborate, noting that some established parties have shown little interest in young fighters like himself. His announcement received widespread support online, with many calling him a "hero of Israel" and wishing him success in his new path.

The formation of Tikuma comes ahead of the 2026 elections, reflecting a growing trend of security veterans entering politics to influence Israel’s future direction after the devastating October 7 attacks.
