The State Attorney’s Office has filed an indictment against Wassem Da’na and Amir Khatib from Jerusalem, accusing them of serious sexual offenses against a girl who had not yet turned 14, while exploiting her disoriented condition. The prosecution is asking that they be detained until the end of the legal proceedings.
The State Attorney’s Office filed the serious indictment today, Wednesday, with the Jerusalem District Court against Wassem Da’na, 22, and Amir Khatib, 21, both from Jerusalem. The indictment attributes to the two serious sexual offenses against a girl under the age of 14 and asks the court to order their detention until the end of the legal proceedings.
According to the indictment, filed through Attorney Shai Itzkov of the Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office, the girl ran away from a facility where she had been staying and arrived at the First Station complex in Jerusalem. There she met Da’na, who according to the indictment knew she was a minor. He bought her an alcoholic drink, gave her substances of unknown nature and cannabis. Da’na then took the girl to a room in the Talpiot area, where, according to the indictment, he raped her and committed additional sexual acts. The acts were carried out with violence, while the girl was intoxicated and disoriented and in a state that prevented her from giving free consent.
The next day, while Da’na and the girl were again at the First Station complex, the two met Khatib. According to the indictment, Khatib committed a sexual act against the girl while she was in a state that prevented her from giving free consent. In addition, Khatib documented part of the acts on his mobile phone and sent the recording to others. The investigation was conducted by the Moriyah Station in the Jerusalem District Police.
Da’na is charged with rape under aggravated circumstances, selling an intoxicating beverage to a minor, and inducing a minor to use dangerous drugs. Khatib is charged with rape, making an obscene publication, and publishing obscenity.
