Jared Kushner Plans Israel Visit to Discuss Trump’s 15-Point Gaza Plan Amid Netanyahu’s Rejection

Special US envoy Jared Kushner and UN envoy Nikolay Mladenov are planning to visit Israel next week to discuss the Trump administration’s 15-point peace plan for Gaza with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. However, the visit is not yet confirmed. Earlier this week, Netanyahu publicly rejected the 15-point plan, stating Israel will not withdraw from Gaza until Hamas is disarmed. He emphasized that the IDF’s rules of engagement remain unchanged and that Israel fully supports its troops in countering threats.

Despite Netanyahu’s rejection, senior officials involved with the Trump peace council claim Israel continues to uphold the ceasefire and has halted targeted killings. Nonetheless, Israeli strikes in Gaza have persisted for three consecutive days, including the killing of a Hamas platoon commander in Khan Younis and the death of Gaza’s police chief Jamal Abu Kmeil in an attack.

Israel has informed the US it will continue to thwart Hamas operatives involved in the October 7 attacks and other emerging threats, a stance reportedly accepted by Washington. Meanwhile, Jerusalem has agreed to increase coordination with the US military command in Kiryat Gat and to moderate operations in Gaza. Kushner is also expected to raise concerns about settler violence in the West Bank during his talks.

US Ambassador Mike Herzog condemned Jewish rioters besieging a Palestinian family in the village of Kusra, labeling them "Israeli terrorists." On the sixth anniversary of the Abraham Accords, Kushner praised the agreements as a breakthrough for Middle East peace and expressed optimism about new opportunities for regional cooperation. President Isaac Herzog responded by calling the accords a milestone and urged expanding peace efforts across the region for the benefit of all peoples.
