Delivery Driver's Reckless Driving Leads to Innocent Citizen Fined in Tel Aviv
A delivery driver for the food delivery service Wolt was reported for reckless driving using a vehicle with falsified license plates, resulting in fines being mistakenly issued to an innocent citizen. Wolt stated that their database of light vehicle license numbers is not publicly accessible, including to Wolt itself, and that the driver involved is under investigation and barred from making deliveries until the matter is resolved. The Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality confirmed it would review the complaint and respond accordingly, advising that cases of license plate forgery should be reported to the Israeli police. The police received the complaint and conducted an investigation but closed the case due to insufficient evidence to proceed. They noted that any new information received will be evaluated for further action.
