Widow of US Yeshiva Head Esther Faller Dies at 100

Esther Faller, the righteous wife of Rabbi Binyamin Faller, head of the 'Makor Chaim' Yeshiva in the United States, passed away at the age of 100. Born nearly a century ago to Rabbi Shmuel Ehrenfeld, a prominent rabbi and Gaavad of Mattersdorf in the US, she descended from distinguished rabbinic lineages including the Arlins and the Chasam Sofer. She married Rabbi Binyamin Faller, a leading disciple of Rabbi Yitzchak Zev Brisk and Rabbi Shimon Shakaf, who founded and led the 'Makor Chaim' Yeshiva until his passing in August 2000.

Throughout her life, Esther Faller devoted herself to supporting her husband’s Torah leadership and nurturing generations of outstanding Torah scholars among their children and sons-in-law. Her funeral took place on Thursday in Jerusalem, starting at the central study hall and 'Beit Shmuel - Mishnat Akiva' Yeshiva in the Mattersdorf neighborhood, proceeding to burial at Har HaMenuchot cemetery. The family is sitting shiva in Jerusalem until 9 p.m. Thursday, then continuing in the US.

She leaves behind blessed descendants from the Faller, Olshin, and Horowitz families, who mourn the loss of a revered figure known for her spiritual stature. May her soul be bound in the bond of life.
