Left-Wing Activists Confront Channel 14 Anchor Over Report on Arab Doctors at Rambam Hospital

Earlier today, left-wing activists confronted Boaz Golan, anchor of Channel 14's "The Open Studio," outside the station following a broadcast investigating complaints by IDF soldiers and their families about the conduct of Arab doctors at Rambam Hospital. The report focused on allegations regarding the use of Arabic by medical staff during treatment of soldiers, which some families claimed caused communication issues.

During the heated confrontation, one activist challenged Golan, questioning why speaking Arabic should be problematic. Golan responded that near IDF soldiers, Arabic should not be spoken as soldiers need to understand their surroundings. The activist, Alon Lee Green, insisted Arabic is one of Israel's languages and accused Golan of racism. Golan denied the accusation and noted that police were en route as the activist allegedly entered a private area.

The dispute followed a Sunday investigative segment about a soldier named Eitan, who was severely injured in Lebanon and treated in Rambam's intensive care. His family alleged neglect and mistreatment, including being isolated from him and claims of rough handling by staff who primarily spoke Arabic. Rambam Hospital refuted these claims, affirming it provides professional care to all patients, including hundreds of wounded soldiers recently, and investigates any allegations of improper conduct seriously.

The activists arrived shortly before the broadcast after security warned Golan of their expected presence. The incident highlights ongoing tensions over language use and treatment in Israeli medical settings involving Arab staff and Jewish soldiers.
