Bar-Ilan University Launches Center to Strengthen Family Bonds Amid Divorce and Inheritance Conflicts

Bar-Ilan University has established a new multidisciplinary center dedicated to protecting and strengthening family relationships, focusing on challenges faced by families during life transitions such as divorce and inheritance disputes. The center aims to deepen understanding of factors affecting family ties, explore ways to reinforce them, and address conflicts between generations, particularly involving children and the elderly.

The center will bring together experts from law, social work, psychology, and medicine to conduct academic research, mentor professionals, and influence public policy. It will also work on developing regulations and treatment methods to support family cohesion and resilience.

Professor Shahar Lifshitz, a leading Israeli family law scholar who will head the center, emphasized the importance of intergenerational connections for the well-being of children, seniors, and families throughout life. He noted that stressful situations like divorce and inheritance conflicts can damage these bonds, highlighting the need for practical tools and knowledge to protect them.
