Construction Begins on New Beit Shemesh Synagogue to Honor Missile Attack Victims

Work has commenced on building a new synagogue in Beit Shemesh to replace the original structure destroyed in a missile attack that claimed the lives of nine residents. The original synagogue, a spiritual and community center, was completely demolished in the attack, which struck the shelter beneath it. The rebuilding effort is led by Zion Revach, father of Gabriel Revach, one of the victims. The project faced complex challenges including tax and historical registration barriers, which were personally overseen by Beit Shemesh Mayor Shmuel Greenberg. Mayor Greenberg expressed deep emotion at the start of construction, calling it a significant moment for the neighborhood and the entire city. He emphasized the synagogue’s importance to the community and the determination to restore what was lost, stating that the city is moving from words to action to rebuild and grow despite the tragedy.
