Beit Shemesh Begins Rebuilding Synagogue Destroyed by Rocket Attack

Reconstruction work has commenced on the synagogue in Beit Shemesh that was destroyed by a rocket during Operation "Lion's Roar." The new synagogue will be built near the original site, with an initial temporary structure to serve worshippers until the permanent building and a new shelter are completed. The original synagogue had served the neighborhood for years before the attack, which tragically killed nine local residents sheltering beneath the building. Since the attack, city officials have worked to secure the necessary permits and approvals to begin rebuilding. Beit Shemesh Mayor Shmuel Greenberg emphasized that rebuilding the synagogue was a clear priority from the start, stating, "This is our way to restore the home lost to the community and to show that even after a severe blow, Beit Shemesh continues to build, recover, and grow." The temporary structure marks the first phase, with plans for a permanent synagogue and shelter to better serve the community in the future.
