Eldar Dayan Laid to Rest in Eilat After Being Found Dead, Friends Arrested for Murder

Eldar Dayan, whose body was discovered last week in a field in central Israel after being missing for several weeks, was buried on Wednesday at the cemetery in Eilat. Two of his friends, Omri Peretz and Maxim Braverman, have been arrested on suspicion of murdering him. Dayan's body was identified last Thursday following an extensive three-week search.

Police revealed that a witness saw Dayan and his friends entering the field where the body was found and running away. During interrogation, Peretz denied running in the field, which led investigators to conclude he was lying. After this, Peretz stopped cooperating with the police. Earlier, two helmets believed to have been used by Dayan and his friends on the day of his disappearance were found.

Dayan had been declared missing since July 18. Initially, police suspected he had gone into hiding after driving without a license and injuring a friend, fearing arrest. However, the investigation took a turn with the discovery of his body and the arrest of his friends, who are now suspects in his murder.
