Former Player Papi Turgeman Returns to Hapoel Jerusalem as Club Ambassador

Hapoel Jerusalem announced on August 11, 2026, that former basketball player Papi Turgeman has been appointed as the club's ambassador. In this role, Turgeman will focus on strengthening ties with fans, the community, and sponsors. Turgeman, 56, began his basketball career with Hapoel Jerusalem at age 16 and joined the senior team at 20. Except for a brief period with Maccabi Givat Shmuel, he played 12 years in Jerusalem. He won two trophies with the club in 1996 and 1997, the first titles in its history. His career also included stints with Livorno in Italy, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Hapoel Galil Elyon, Dexia Mons in Belgium, Ironi Ashkelon, and Maccabi Hod Hasharon, his last team before retirement. Turgeman remains one of the most iconic players associated with Hapoel Jerusalem and now returns to contribute off the court.
