Israeli Player Guy Artman Joins Spanish Second Division Basketball Team Palmer Basket

Israeli basketball player Guy Artman has signed with Palmer Basket, a team competing in Spain's second division. Palmer Basket is based in Palma, on the Spanish island of Mallorca. This marks Artman's third professional stop in Spain, following previous stints with Albacete and Santander.

Last season, Artman played for Alba Berlin's secondary team in Germany's third division, helping them reach the promotion playoffs for the second division. He also appeared in five games with Alba Berlin's main squad, including the German Cup semifinal and final. Notably, John DiBartolomeo, a veteran naturalized Israeli player, previously played for Palmer Basket, spending two seasons there and helping the team advance from the third to the second division before moving to Israeli clubs Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Artman chose Palmer Basket over several offers from Israeli teams in the Winner League and National League, as well as from Germany's second division. He explained, "I chose to play in Spain's second division as part of my ongoing development. I came to Europe three years ago aiming to reach the highest levels. Last season proved I can compete at higher levels, and Spain's second division is the professional step I wanted this year. It may help me eventually join the ACB, Spain's top and one of Europe's strongest leagues. I thank the team for choosing me and those who contacted me in Israel. I am sure I will play in Israel again in the future."
