Tiberias Seeks Licensed Coach to Support Krispil Amid Team Suspensions

Amid ongoing legal proceedings involving the Israeli Football Association and the Anti-Doping Agency, Ironi Tiberias is preparing for the upcoming season and will face Maccabi Petah Tikva in a Toto Cup ranking match on Saturday. Moti Krispil, assistant to suspended head coach Eliran Hodeda, is expected to lead the team in the upcoming game. Hodeda is temporarily suspended along with four players: Guy Hadida, David Kaltins, Niv Gottlieb, and Sambinia, currently in Portugal. The club hopes the suspended players will return soon but recognizes the need to appoint a coach with a professional license to work alongside Krispil, who remains a senior professional authority due to his familiarity with the players and respect within the club.

Financially, the club's approved budget stands at 21 million shekels, but fundraising has stalled amid the legal uncertainty affecting positive cash flow. Recently, however, Tiberias has seen renewed local support, nearing 200,000 shekels through concentrated season ticket sales, donations, and small sponsorships. The club plans to give opportunities to youth players such as Ran Halyuva and Roy Shahar, who have already participated in most matches, and Mansour Badji, a youth graduate returning from a two-year loan at Maccabi Jaffa, alongside Ayo Jones Abu Ghanima.

Tiberias is rebuilding its professional framework in youth departments and the academy, intending to regularly integrate younger players into the senior team’s training. The club expressed pride in seeing its young players compete equally in the Premier League despite the challenging period and ongoing squad construction.
