Mother Honors Daughter Mifal Adam's Legacy Against Bullying at Beersheba Festival

Mifal Adam, who was tragically murdered in Nova, faced bullying during her childhood and later dedicated herself to helping children in similar situations. Her mother, Yona Adam, will deliver a lecture in her memory at the Beersheba Children's Theater Festival on August 12 and 13, 2026. The lecture, titled "A Flood of Light," focuses on Mifal's life and values of generosity and unconditional acceptance.

The festival, held at Beit Tamuz in Beersheba and themed "Weaving Friendships," includes plays, performances, creative workshops, and family activities. It will also launch a social-educational initiative inspired by Mifal to equip children with tools to combat bullying and promote a more inclusive and safe society. The festival organizers chose to center the event around Mifal’s story and values, making the social message the festival’s main theme.

Yona Adam shared that Mifal experienced a three-year silent bullying campaign during elementary school, which she initially did not reveal to protect her mother. Despite efforts to resolve the situation, the bullying persisted until Mifal was transferred to another school in sixth grade, where she managed to recover with great strength. Yona emphasized that the festival and lecture aim to instill values of friendship, unity, and anti-bullying, which she sees as crucial for rebuilding a traumatized younger generation.

Reflecting on the three years since Mifal’s murder, Yona said she chooses to focus on light and to carry her daughter’s legacy forward by sharing her story. She described the therapeutic power of the lecture and the emotional support she receives from audiences. Yona highlighted Mifal’s unconditional acceptance of others regardless of background or identity, a value deeply embedded in her family life and central to the festival’s message.
