Fire Destroys Building at French Summer Camp While 80 Teens Are Away in Switzerland

A fire broke out at the Camp Chazon summer camp located in the French mountains, completely destroying one of its buildings. At the time, about 80 people, including 60 boys from England and the camp staff, were away on a trip at Glacier 3000 in Switzerland. No one was injured in the incident. The fire occurred on the camp's last day, which helped avoid the need for long-term housing solutions and left most of the camp cleared and evacuated, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby structures. The study hall and other camp buildings were unharmed. Although the fire consumed nearly all items inside the affected building and completely burned the beds, almost all the boys' tefillin sets were found intact on the burned beds, according to Yeshiva World News.
