Retired General Uzi Dayan Joins Likud Primaries Emphasizing Security and Social Resilience

Retired Major General Uzi Dayan, former Deputy Chief of Staff and head of the National Security Council, has officially entered the Likud party primaries ahead of the upcoming elections. Dayan brings extensive military and security experience, positioning himself as the most senior security figure and effectively the only general running on the Likud list for the Knesset.

Beyond his distinguished military career, Dayan is also recognized for his significant social and educational activism. He founded and presides over the "Sderot Conference for Society," which promotes social resilience and reducing inequality in Israel. Additionally, he chairs "The Reconnaissance Circles," a youth organization dedicated to cultivating future leaders grounded in values and knowledge of the nation and land.

Upon announcing his candidacy, Dayan declared his commitment to two main pillars: national security and social-educational strength. He stated, "The strength of the State of Israel relies on security and quality, value-based education for future generations. I am running to harness my command, strategic, and social experience to fortify Israel's security and its social-educational future."
