Shomrei Emunim Hasidim Mark Sixth Yahrzeit of Rebbe Tiferet Aharon

The Shomrei Emunim Hasidic community commemorated the sixth yahrzeit (anniversary of passing) of their revered Rebbe, the Tiferet Aharon, who passed away on the 23rd of Menachem Av, 5780 (2020). The observance began on the eve of the yahrzeit with the lighting of candles by the current Rebbe during Mincha prayers at dusk. Later that evening, the Rebbe entered the main study hall of the Tiferet Aharon to lead Maariv prayers, followed by communal study of the Talmudic tractate Kelim.

On the day of the yahrzeit, after Shacharit prayers, the Rebbe hosted a celebratory meal (seudat l’chaim) and studied Mishnayot from the tractate Mikvaot. Subsequently, he led a large gathering of Hasidim to pray at the Rebbe’s gravesite located in the Shomrei Emunim section atop the Mount of Olives. After lighting memorial candles at the gravesite, the Hasidim recited Psalms in the traditional order. The Rebbe then read aloud the kvitelach (prayer notes) submitted by the followers, placed them at the gravesite, and blessed the crowd with prayers for salvation and blessings in the merit of the Tiferet Aharon.

The Rebbe also visited the graves of his ancestors, including the Chukei Chaim and Shomrei Emunim Rebbes, offering quiet prayers for communal and personal salvation. He proceeded to the grave of the Belzer Rebbe, his ancestor’s mentor, on the Mount of Rest during the three days of the yahrzeit. In the evening, the Rebbe led Mincha prayers and then conducted a large festive meal. During this event, the Rebbe completed the study of the entire Talmud that had been learned by the community in memory of the Tiferet Aharon. Prominent rabbis who revered the Tiferet Aharon participated, enjoying the spiritual legacy he left despite his brief leadership. The Rebbe concluded with teachings on the Tiferet Aharon’s scholarship and sanctity of Aaron.
