Israel Appoints Lior Hayat as Ambassador to Rome, Also Covering Malta and San Marino
The Israeli government has approved Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar's proposal to appoint Lior Hayat as Israel's ambassador to Rome. In addition to his role in Italy, Hayat will serve as a non-resident ambassador to Malta and San Marino. Currently, Hayat is the Deputy Director for North America at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Jerusalem. His previous roles include spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, Consul General of Israel in Miami, and Director of the Central America and Caribbean Department.
