The Israeli government has unanimously approved Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar's proposal to appoint Yonatan Peled as Israel's ambassador to the United Nations mission in Geneva. Peled currently serves as Israel's ambassador to Italy and non-resident ambassador to San Marino, a position he has held since September 2024.

He also acted as a political advisor to the Knesset Speaker and the Foreign Minister.
