Celine Dion, Shakira, and Manchester Derby Drive High Demand for Israeli Tishrei Holiday Travel
The upcoming Tishrei holiday season is expected to be particularly busy for Israeli music and sports fans traveling abroad. Data from LiveTickets shows thousands of Israelis have already secured tickets for major global concerts and key European football matches, alongside other international sports events. Leading the concert demand is Celine Dion's tour in Paris starting September 12. The Canadian singer, returning after battling a rare illness, has drawn huge global interest, with ticket prices rising significantly to start around 900 euros. Approximately 1,500 Israelis are expected to attend her shows.
Shakira's concerts in Madrid during September and October also see strong demand, with tickets from 125 euros and over 500 Israelis anticipated. The Colombian star, famous for the World Cup anthem "Waka Waka," continues to attract a loyal Israeli audience. Other popular concerts include Robbie Williams, with tickets from 335 euros, and Jay-Z in Paris starting at 150 euros. Williams remains highly popular among Israeli fans, having performed in Israel before.
In football, the Manchester derby on September 13 tops the list of sought-after matches, with tickets starting at 375 pounds. This high-profile city rivalry draws global attention, including many Israeli supporters. During the Sukkot break, international fixtures like England vs. Spain in London and France vs. Italy in Paris will also attract Israeli fans, with ticket prices ranging from 110 euros for Lazio-Milan in Rome to 185 pounds for England-Spain.
Outside Europe, the US Open tennis championship in New York is another major draw, with tickets starting around 400 dollars. New York remains the most popular destination for Israelis, expecting about 50,000 visitors during the holidays following the summer World Cup travel surge.
Yossi Alfasi, CEO of LiveTickets, noted that despite security concerns, Israelis continue to travel abroad for major cultural and sports events. He highlighted the recent launch of a cancellation service, now included in 20% of bookings, providing customers flexibility in case of security issues or plan changes, allowing for more confident travel planning.
