As Israeli families plan domestic vacations for the upcoming Jewish holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot in 2026, hotel availability is already tight at popular destinations such as Eilat, the Dead Sea, Tiberias, and Jerusalem. A recent survey of prices at leading five-star hotels reveals that a three-night stay for a family of four can cost tens of thousands of shekels, especially with half-board meal plans.
In Eilat, the Isrotel Royal Garden charges 11,109 NIS for three nights during Rosh Hashanah (September 10-13) on a half-board basis, rising to 13,672 NIS for four nights over Sukkot (September 26-30). The Orchid Hotel offers rooms from 8,835 NIS for three nights at Sukkot with breakfast only, but has no availability for Rosh Hashanah. The Herods Palace, popular with families, lists deluxe rooms at 18,360 NIS for three nights including Sukkot eve, also fully booked for Rosh Hashanah.
At the Dead Sea, the Herods Dead Sea Spa Hotel charges 14,728 NIS for three nights at Rosh Hashanah on half-board, while the David Dead Sea Hotel offers deluxe rooms from 9,744 NIS. The Brown Dead Sea Hotel prices are similar, around 13,479 NIS for half-board stays. In Tiberias, the Leonardo Plaza and Caesar Premier hotels offer three-night stays with half-board from approximately 9,140 to 10,571 NIS, with family-friendly amenities including spas and kids’ clubs.
Jerusalem’s Mamilla Hotel lists suites at 7,762 NIS for three nights with breakfast, while the prestigious King David Hotel charges 18,185 NIS for a family room over Rosh Hashanah and 27,881 NIS for five nights during Sukkot. Availability is limited, and some hotels require longer minimum stays during the holidays.
Overall, families seeking quality accommodations during Israel’s peak holiday periods should expect to pay substantial sums, particularly for half-board plans and larger rooms in five-star hotels. Early booking, price comparison, and flexible dates remain key to finding more affordable options.
